An event born from the union of 6 artists, teachers, and friends, with the dream of creating something new and exciting for our communities.
In 2026, we are meeting up in Tokyo, Japan, for one epic weekend of Mambo. This isn’t just another salsa weekend. It’s a full immersion into the craft, the connection, and the culture that we need to evolve as a community.

This event brings together artists whose lives have been shaped by salsa and mambo, from Tokyo to Melbourne to Sydney. Mari Yogo has spent over a decade performing on stages across more than 20 countries, celebrated for her spins and elegant expression, while Misaki has built one of Japan's most loved salsa communities through her clean technique and infectious musicality. From Melbourne, Almendra & Richie join as World Salsa Champions and creators of the AR Method, known for their grounded, expressive style. And from Sydney, Federico & Paola of Dance Mambo round out the lineup, bringing the same structured, detailed and effective approach they are renown for.

What’s included & event schedule
All workshops and parties will be hosted at the iconic “Modis Shibuya”. This amazing venue is centrally located in Shibuya, just a stroll away from the iconic crossing by the train station.
Full passes include all workshops and the main social night on Saturday and are available via our teams in Australia and Japan.

Most workshops are designed for intermediate to advanced social dancers with a foundation in Salsa On2 / Mambo. Some sessions are accessible to motivated improvers. If you're unsure, feel free to email us at unity@dancemambo.com.au.

UME is focused on Mambo On2 / New York style salsa. Dancers from other styles are welcome — many find the experience expands their movement vocabulary — but the curriculum is built around On2 technique.

Both socials start at 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday night. Finish time is approximately 1:00 AM (subject to venue).

Yes — the Bootcamp participants will perform as part of the Saturday night social. There may be additional artist performances throughout the weekend.

The venue will serve drinks during the night time party.

While bringing a reusable water bottle is ok, strictly no alcohol BYO.

No problem — attend what you can. That said, the curriculum is designed progressively, so the more you attend, the more you'll get out of it.
