What Makes Unity Unique
This event is about learning and growing as a united community, teachers and students side by side in the same room. It is not about having the biggest timetable, or the longest showcase, or the most people buying tickets. It’s about being the most connected and unique experience for anyone who joins. Every hour here builds on the last, taught collaboratively by our international artists and the Unity team in the same room. Every night, every light, and every detail is curated with the goal of making this unforgettable for you, our audience.
If you have been at Unity before, you already know this; if not, hear us out. We do this because we care and we love the scene, and if anything, that is the one thing we want you to take away.
2027 Guest Artists
Misaki is one of Asia's leading salsa dancers, based in Tokyo. She's been dancing since 2011, building a reputation across the international congress circuit for musical shines, clean technique, and a bright, expressive performance style. She's performed internationally, appeared in music videos, and taught across the world. For UME 2027, she's also the choreographer behind the Saturday night bootcamp to be performed with live music, as part of the live band's main set.
Our yet-to-be-announced international couple co-leads the schedule. She trained with New York's Yamulee Dance Company before branching out as a soloist and has performed on every main stage all over the world, showcasing elegance and femininity. He is a multiple-time World Salsa Champion and comes from a family of hardcore mambo dancers. He’s famous for his insane energy and presence, smooth social dancing and ballistic shine combinations, both solo and alongside his brothers.
Our guest Cuban legends trio (TBA) will lead all Friday workshops: two of the most respected Cuban dance authorities in the country, joined by a professional percussionist on both congas and bata drums for a day of Afro-Cuban folklore, rumba, and son.
The Schedule
Everything happens in one room. Artists, teachers and students, all in the same space, all working through the same three-day arc.
Nothing here is filler, and nothing runs in a parallel room you have to choose against.
Friday takes you back to where mambo actually comes from; Africa and Cuba merge under one roof.
Saturday builds you up through the foundations of mambo itself all the way to modern and social techniques.
Sunday tests what you've actually absorbed and adds in the fusion element.
The Socials
Every night features a 100% salsa social, with local and guest DJs, dancing, bar and animation from 7 pm all the way to 2 am; that is an unheard-of 7 hours of social dancing per night. Here is the fine print:

We're a small team, and we like it that way. The event we're organising is a room full of people who care about your weekend as much as you do.
What screams that we care more than some fancy big-budget branding? We think that being personable, putting your face on it, and being present with humility and passion does just that. That hasn't changed since year one, and it won't change as this event keeps growing.
No matter what, we will be there to greet you when you arrive, dance next to you, and hug you goodbye at the end of the night; that’s just who we are.
Tickets & Pricing
264 dancers came through in 2026, up 40% from the year before. Full passes doubled, from 60 to 120. Every year this event has grown, and every year we've kept it smaller than it could be, on purpose. The goal is the highest possible quality, not the biggest crowd.
Full passes rise in price as each release closes, by date or by selling out, whichever comes first. Booking earlier gets you the same weekend for less.
You don't need a partner to attend. Come solo or come with someone; both work fine.
If you dance with a school, check with your instructors before you book. Some schools have a special arrangement with us, and it's worth asking before you buy at full price.

No. Solo attendees and paired attendees are both completely normal here. Plenty of people come alone every year.

All workshops across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, plus entry to both party nights. The bootcamp is a separate add on and is not included in the Full Pass.

Friday's Afro Cuban roots day is open to any level dancer. Saturday's mambo workshops run from fundamentals through advanced, so genuine novices and experienced dancers are both catered for. Sunday's challenge and fusion day assumes you're comfortable with mambo/salsa on2 already.

You're still welcome here. Friday's workshops cover salsa's roots rather than a specific timing, so they're open to any style. Saturday builds the foundations of on2 specifically, which makes it a great way to add on2 to what you already know.

All ticket sales are final. In line with Australian Consumer Law, you're entitled to a refund only if there's a significant change to the event, specifically a change of venue or a change to a headline artist advertised at the time you purchased. Minor schedule changes don't qualify. If the event is cancelled outright, you get a full refund.

Friday's dress code is unity colours. Saturday is dress-to-impress, formal gala.

How do I get there from the city? Buses stop right outside the venue. It's about a 13 minute Uber or taxi ride from the CBD.
Is there parking? Yes, parking is available around the venue, plus secure parking five minutes away at Norton St Forum.
